Geraint on your Dreams and Taking Action

This is a transcription of a recent podcast by Geraint Powers, known in many parts of Shropshire as the Tony Robbins of the Rhondda.  This is despite the fact that Geraint is actually from Llanwrted Wells, home of the the Annual Bog Snorkelling Championship.

Successful though Geraint is, he still finds time to help those unfortunate others, who, for whatever reason - bad luck, ill health or downright laziness have not found the success they desire.

Here's a special message from him.

Dear New Seeker of Success,

"For those of you who have unfulfilled dreams - and you know who you are - have you ever thought of setting your sights a good deal lower?  Lower your standards!  Don't expect so much of yourself.  Small goals are easier to hit.  Not in football, obviously, where it's a lot harder to get the ball into a smaller goal.  But in life it is.

"Life is not always like football.  In life you don't always have a no-score draw at an away match.  You don't always get a multi-million pound transfer fee.  You don't always look forward to taking a hot shower with ten other sweating men.

"Anyway, I want you to take a long hard look at yourself.  You might want to use a mirror for that.  One of those full length ones like my Auntie used to have.  Who is that man looking back at you?  Do you recognise him?  Would you buy him a pint, if you saw him in a pub?  Or a white wine spritzer?

"A dream is just a dream unless you take action, man!  And how can you make your dream come true if you don't run that extra mile over the rainbow?

"Ask yourself:  "Am I taking massive action?".  And reply to yourself, too.

"But don't fool yourself.  You can fool some of the people some of the time, and you can fool all of the people in some parts of the country all the time, and you can fool some of the people in other parts of the country quite often.  And you can fool yourself - some of the time, and depending on what part of the country you're in at the time.  But don't do it.  You know what they say - the person who fools himself has a fool as a partner in conversation.  And how right they are.

"Well, I have news for you - around by here what goes around comes around by here.  Clearly.

"So put your back into it, with your nose to the grindstone.  And use some elbow grease.

"Until we meet again, hwyl fawr, and Leeve your Wife with Passion!"
